The Big Hash has thrown his support behind Rush-Awa, the self-titled debut album from South African production duo MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe, describing the release as a major moment for hip-hop.
Sharing a link to the album on Apple Music via X, the rapper wrote, “This album is such a huge win for Hip Hop!”
Released across streaming platforms, the 15-track project brings together established stars and emerging artists from across South Africa’s rap scene. With MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe at the production helm, the album places collaboration at the centre of its musical direction.
Rush-Awa Album Builds Momentum With 2026 Singles
Before unveiling the full project, MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe gradually introduced listeners to their collaborative vision through a series of singles released throughout 2026.
“Lapisa”, featuring Lowfeye, LaCabra and Dolphin_DX, arrived in June and subsequently earned gold certification. The duo continued the rollout in August with “Ntshepe”, which features Loatinover Pounds, Sjava and Cassper Nyovest.
A remix of “Ballon d’Or”, featuring Focalistic and MfanaTouchLine, added to the build-up ahead of the album’s release.
The singles offered an early look at the range of artists involved in the project, setting the stage for a full-length release that brings together multiple voices and styles within South African hip-hop.
MashBeatz And DJ Sliqe Bring South African Rap Stars Together
Across its 15 tracks, Rush-Awa features a diverse selection of collaborations, pairing prominent rappers with artists representing different parts of the local music scene.
“Chocolate 2by2” features 25K, Blxckie and Maglera Doe Boy, while “Streetz” unites Blxckie, Nasty C and Usimamane on the same track.
Elsewhere, Emtee and issi collaborate on “Mama”. The album also features “Umkhonto”, which brings together Blxckie, Flow Jones Jr., KindlyNxsh and K.Keed.

The Big Hash Adds His Support To Rush-Awa’s Debut Album
The Big Hash’s reaction brings further attention to the release from two producers with established connections across South African hip-hop.
The rapper is known for projects including Heartbreak Hotel and PRESS HASH: VOLUME ONE. He has also explored collaborative music through Love Is A Star, a project with Sly and Kabza De Small.
His public endorsement of Rush-Awa adds his voice to the reception surrounding the album, which brings together a broad selection of South African artists under one banner.
Rather than revolving around a single lead rapper, the project distributes its spotlight across a large cast of performers, with MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe providing the production framework that connects the collaborations.

The release represents a joint effort from MashBeatz and DJ Sliqe, with the duo drawing on a wide network of artists to shape their debut as Rush-Awa.
